How to Keep Your Artisan Bread Fresh

Artisan bread tastes best when it's fresh, but storing it right can keep it yummy for a few days. Since these loaves use fresh dough and lack preservatives unlike store-bought bread, some TLC goes a long way.

You're better off keeping artisan bread in a paper bag, a cloth bag, or a bread box at room temp. These breathe easy and keep the crust nice. Plastic bags? Save 'em for something else, since they trap moisture and soften the crust.

Don't plan on eating that loaf right away? Freezing's a great idea. Slice it first for easier thawing later. Just pop the slices in a warm oven for a minute or two to get that crisp crust back and enhance the freshness.

At The Loaf Co., each loaf is made by hand. Store it properly to enjoy the taste and texture from the first to the last bite.
